About Us

Oquendo Capital, founded in 2007, is an independent firm specialized in private debt for Spanish lower mid-market companies.
Funds advised by Oquendo provide flexible financing solutions tailored to the requirements of each Company and its main stakeholders. Investments are structured through a wide range of instruments such as common equity, preferred equity, PIK loans, mezzanine debt or unitranche debt. Oquendo has a long term investment horizon and is not involved in the day-to-day management of the companies.

Typology of investors

Investors in Oquendo’s funds are a diversified group of Spanish and international institutions, including insurance companies, pension funds, financial institutions, government bodies and private investors. The Oquendo team is aligned with investors through a significant investment in each of the funds.

Fund Structure

Funds have a maximum life of 10 years with two optional 1 year extensions. Investments are made in the first four years and divestments are concentrated in the remaining six years. A Prospectus of each Fund is deposited in the CSSF regulating the relationships of both funds with their respective investors.

The investment management of the Oquendo Funds, as well as control and risks management, is carried out by Oquendo Capital SGEIC, responsible of all decisions related with investments and divestments. The Investment and Asset Acquisitions Department of the AFIM meets periodically and decides on the investments and divestments to be made.
